AXA Philippines, one of the country's leading insurance providers, has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) Manila to continue its commitment to spread financial literacy among Filipinos at an early age, highlighting the value of savings amid the pandemic and economic downturn.
Held through an online ceremony, the signing of the memorandum of understanding cements the tie-up between AXA Philippines and DepEd Manila to create awareness on basic financial concepts applied in practical daily planning and to provide access to financial services.
Through this partnership, AXA Philippines will be providing “What’s Your Game Plan” Financial Literacy Kits to six partner schools in Metro Manila to increase awareness on the value of savings during the pandemic. These schools are J. C. De Jesus Elementary School, A.C. Herrera Elementary School, A. Remigio Elementary School, G. Lopez Jaena Elementary School, SIKAT Elementary School, and E. Aguinaldo Elementary School, among others.
The materials for both teachers and students include information on saving money, consumer behavior, budget planning, insurance and investments, and more. The concepts are explained through short story guides, vision board, and exercise sheets. The kits also come with a self-monitoring savings card and coin bank.
Previously, AXA Philippines also held several financial literacy seminars for teachers and savings programs for students in partnership with DepEd Manila.
