Bracing for super typhoon natural disasters: Financially secure your family and assets from acts of nature

Here’s how to keep your loved ones, home, and car from unforeseen circumstances.

While we don’t know when and where the next typhoon or earthquakes will strike, we have the choice to prepare for them now.

Here’s a short checklist of what you must consider to prepare so you can be financially protected in cases of typhoons, earthquakes, and similar acts of nature (AON):

  1. Home Security. The cost of acquiring your property is no small matter. If you live in your own home, it is essential to have it thoroughly insured against any unfortunate instances caused by man or nature. Having that peace of mind knowing you can file a claim from your property insurance to cover repair expenses can help alleviate the stress amid a calamity.

AXA Home Security is a comprehensive property insurance package that protects residential homes against the most basic coverage: fire and lightning, up to the most catastrophic perils such as typhoon, flood, and earthquake. Aside from these, it also comes with other benefits like rent and relocation expenses in case you need to temporarily move out while your house is being repaired, and a personal accident coverage with medical reimbursement for the whole family.

  2. Comprehensive car insurance. Damaged vehicles are a common sight in news footage in the aftermath of a super typhoon or heavy flooding. Repairs caused by natural disasters are not usually covered by car insurance. But customers have the option to purchase the Acts of Nature coverage with an additional premium.

Since automotive repairs could cost an arm and a leg, some damaged cars remain unrepaired and rendered useless. Don’t let this be your vehicle’s fate.

Inquire about AXA’s Comprehensive Car Insurance, which comes with an option to include as an add-on the coverage for damages due to AON like typhoons, flooding, and earthquakes.

  3. Medical coverage. A lot can happen during a calamity. Structures and spaces can end up in disarray, which may lead to personal accidents. The distressing situation could trigger attacks on those with underlying conditions. Get yourself protected from the financial strain caused by hospitalization and treatment with MySecurity.

If your company’s HMO already covers you and your dependents, that’s good. However, you may want to supplement that with Health Care Access Lite for additional coverage and benefits. AXA’s Health Start, which can also be availed as health insurance for the family, offers coverage for critical illnesses.

You may want to consider getting Personal Accident Insurance as well. This specifically covers the expenses arising from personal accidents.

Investing in these three solutions could save you from worrying and calm you down when the unfortunate happens. Today, make the smart move your future self would thank you for.

Know you can game plan your future, rain or shine, with AXA’s dedicated insurance packages for your health, home, and vehicle, and health. Book a consultation with an AXA financial advisor now
